| Bedrooms |
| Bedrooms are fully furnished to the highest standards, carpeted, central heated with plenty of cupboard space. All rooms are fitted with wash basins and some have en-suite facilities. All doors are extra wide for easy access. Service users have a choice of decor and how they wish to furnish their room, (Assessment to be carried out of Fire and safety of furniture). There is a call system and smoke detector in every room. |

| Bathrooms |
| The bathroom are fitted with hoists and other ancillary equipment to promote independence and protect dignity. Emergency alarm call systems are also fitted. |

| Lounge/ Smoking Room |
| The lounge for the young adult is very spacious, it has Television, Video, Hi-fi, Board Games and Pool Table. Adjacent to the lounge is an open plan dining area. Smoking room is very spacious with Television and Video. The corridors are wide enough to allow two wheelchairs to pass with ease. There are wheelchairs recharging bays off the corridor. The lounge in the older people's unit is very spacious (to access to outdoor veranda) and equipped with Television, Hi-fi and Board Games. Adjacent to the lounge is a separate dining area and access to the Lift. There is also a separate smoking room with Television and Video. |

| There is a pay phone on the ground floor. If privacy is required the main phone in the office is available. Service user can have their own mobile phones. |

| Laundry |
| Laundry is washed in-house. All clothes must be clearly labeled. In order to comply with infection control regulations all clothing must be able to be washed at 65o for 10 minutes without sustaining damage. |

| Hairdresser |
| A hairdresser visits the Home regularly for basic hair cuts. There is no charge for this service. Service user can use the local hairdresser in the village at their own expense. |

| Activities |
| Membership of outside clubs is encouraged to promote socializing and integration with local community. An Activities Organizer is employed to promote Board games, Bingo, Reminiscence therapy, Swimming and Quizzes. Regular trips out are organized to Dog racing, Parks, Seaside and shopping. |

| Food/ Dining |
| All meals are home cooked and menu is available on request. Personal likes and dislikes are always taken into account and special diets can be catered for. |

| Gardens |
Service users are encouraged to make use of the large garden with plenty of secluded areas for privacy. There is a large aviary, pond and chicken area. We take full advantage of this with Barbecues in the summer months.
Everything in the home is tailored for the elderly and young adults. The two story building has allowed us to dedicate the upper floor to those, who are over sixty five or over and ground floor is tailored to the younger adults between the age of eighteen and sixty five. A lift ensures easy access to both floors.
The Island Residential Home is family business and because of our strong aims and objectives the whole environment is comfortable, friendly, cheerful and safe. We have created a home from home atmosphere which allows our guests to be individuals in their own right.
